There are millions, perhaps billions of micro-organisms which come in contact with plants every day.

There are many organisms (fungal, bacterial and viral) which live in the soil, in water, and sometimes in air, which are harmful to plants.

They are responsible for serious diseases in plants, and can kill individual plants, and even destroy entire crops.
