To prevent, destroy, repel or mitigate any pest
A pesticide is a chemical or biological agent used to destroy or repel pests. Pests are defined as insects, other invertebrates such as nematodes and mollusks, weeds, plant diseases, microbial organisms or vertebrates such as mammals, birds, and fish. A pesticide may or may not be harmful to humans. Using this definition, a herbicide is classified as a specialized pesticide.
