There are bees on every continent in the world except Antarctica.

The family Apidae (from the Latin apis: bee) is an immense family in the insect order Hymenoptera, and includes three subfamilies: Apinae, which includes honeybees, bumblebees, stingless bees, orchid bees, and many others; Nomadinae, which includes cuckoo bees; and Xylocopinae, carpenter bees.
