Photosynthesis is a biochemical process necessary for plant life and all other life.

Photosynthesis is the creation (or synthesization) of sugar from light, carbon dioxide and water. Practically all life on the planet depends on it. The process is complex, and made up of many biochemical operations coordinated through the plant system.

It occurs in higher plants, algae, some bacteria and several other organisms.
