In Halifax, we have a pesticide/herbicide ban. If you want to use a lawn chemical, you have to get a special permit and post "skull and crossbones" signs on your lawn. Every time I see one of those signs, I want to ask the homeowner what exactly that symbol means to them - it can't mean the same thing it does to me or they wouldn't want it on their lawn...

I like that solution. It appearfs that your local government is highly evolved and aware. That's something we need here. Can you figure out how to package it and send it down here?
Seriously, we are doing such damage to the environment without realizing it. Are we going to the the ones that subsequent generations blame for destroying our planet, just because it was convenient at the time?

Halifax is certainly on the right track but we still have lots of room for improvement. I think these ideas are spreading, but the question is, are they spreading fast enough to save us from the fate you describe...
