There was an interesting "urban myth" about the Calvaria trees on Mauritius - people believed that the seeds of this tree had to pass through the gut of a Dodo bird before they would sprout. When the last Dodo was gone, it was thought that the Calvaria tress would ultimately follow. Fortunately, time has proven them wrong.
